US Open Day 4: Yankees Stars and Celebrities Light Up the Night
Aaron Judge, Jessica Biel, Taye Diggs, and More Attend an Exciting Day 4 of the 2024 US Open
Day 4 of the 2024 US Open at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center was a night filled with sportsmanship, star power, and celebrations of diversity. The stands were brimming with energy as celebrities and sports stars gathered to watch the matches, making the evening session a blend of thrilling tennis and glamorous appearances.
Yankees Take Over the US Open
The New York Yankees took a rare night off from the baseball diamond to enjoy the action at Arthur Ashe Stadium. A strong contingent, including Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells, and Giancarlo Stanton, traded their baseball gloves for tennis rackets as they watched the matches. Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo arrived together, accompanied by their wives, turning the outing into a fun double date. The group posed for photos on the Blue Carpet, showcasing their off-field camaraderie and love for the sport of tennis.
Jessica Biel’s Return and Star-Studded Appearances
Jessica Biel made her second consecutive appearance at the US Open, this time attending the evening session with her son. Biel’s presence added a touch of Hollywood glamour to the event, as she enjoyed the night’s matches with her family.
The night also featured Taye Diggs, star of the hit show All American, who posed for photos on the Blue Carpet, delighting fans with his charm and charisma. Other celebrities seen enjoying the matches included model Chanel Iman, legendary soap opera star Susan Lucci, soccer player Crystal Dunn, comedian Chelsea Handler, actress Anna Chlumsky, stylist Law Roach, singer Eric Nam, former NBA player Carmelo Anthony, and actress Yvonne Orji, among others.
Celebrating Diversity: 4th Annual Open Pride
Day 4 of the US Open was also notable for its celebration of the 4th Annual Open Pride. The grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center were vibrant with events and activations dedicated to celebrating inclusivity and diversity. Special guests included actor Wilson Cruz, known for his advocacy work and role in Star Trek: Discovery, and actor Conrad Ricamora, famed for his roles in How to Get Away with Murder and Fire Island. Both Cruz and Ricamora participated in the pre-match coin toss, with Cruz kicking off the women’s singles match between Naomi Osaka and Karolina Muchova, and Ricamora doing the honors for the match featuring Iga Swiatek and Ena Shibahara.
NFL player Carl Nassib, the first openly gay active player in the league, was also in attendance, showing support for the Open Pride initiatives. These celebrations underscored the US Open’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, making the event a welcoming space for all fans.
